Worship

worship1All that we do at Grace Church is rooted in worship. We believe that Baptism and Eucharist, our two primary sacraments, are outward and visible signs of God’s abundant grace. Thus, the symbols of the water in our font, and the bread and wine on our altar, are very important to us.

Our liturgical year is based on the life of Jesus Christ and so we celebrate the “seasons” of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and Ordinary Time, with our worship space worship2transformed to reflect the unique beauty of each. You can see examples of this in our Photo Gallery on this web-site.

Our services can be described as spiritual, traditional, and solemn; however an attitude of deep joy prevails as we give thanks for God’s many blessings. Our lay readers, chalice bearers, ushers, acolytes and altar guild all have a sense of sharing in the sacred while carrying out their responsibilities, even as our coffee hour hosts prepare for us to continue our fellowship in Thatcher Hall and offer hospitality to our guests.

The music at our 10:30 service, led by our outstanding organist and faithful choir members, may be traditional or contemporary or a wonderful mix of both, but it is always filled with a spirit of love for God.
