Our ministry scope is determined by the willingness of our parish family to give time, talent and treasure. If you've made a financial commitment or pledge in the past, thank you. If you're new to our community, we encourage you to support our ministries in time, talent and treasure.
This has been a year of coming back together after being physically distanced to varying degrees for almost two years due to COVID. That’s why the theme of this year’s Stewardship campaign is “Weaving Grace Together.” We all tried to stay in contact as bestwell as we could during the pandemic, but being physically together again gives us the chance to weave the strong thread of friendship and community more closely into the fabric of our lives.
The most important step you can take to weave the thread of your life into the beautiful tapestry God is weaving at Grace Church in the Mountains is to fill out the enclosed “Time, Talent & Treasure” card after reviewing the Ministry Handbook. We ask that you pray, discerndiscern, and talk with other members of your household as you offer your gifts of time, talent and treasure for God’s work both at Grace Church and beyond.
Treasure, which ideally is proportional giving based on income, is what enables us to fulfill our ministries as God’s emissaries, as well as pay our bills and maintain our property. It is crucial to our annual planning as it determines what can be funded and what must be cut. The Vestry remains committed to increasing the proportion of the operating budget each year to Ministries Beyond the Parish. In 2022, that proportion was 13%, so it will increase in 2023.
We are increasing our use of technology to make responding easier. For example, you mayUsing use your cell phone to take a photo of the QR code at the bottom of this letter. A link will appear that takes you directly to the on-line site where you can make your commitment. Another option is to , or you can visit the our website (https://www.gracewaynesville.com/pledge-to-weaving-grace-together-treasure.html). Filling out and mailing the enclosed paper form Mailing a check or dropping it by the office still works too!
The “Time & Talent” section is equally important for each person in your household to complete as God gives each of us unique skills, talents and interests we are meant to share to accomplish God’s purposes within our church and community. This year, we want to find out what inherent skills, talents and interests are in our flock, and enhance or change our ministries according to what you offer and desire. No later than early 2023, Ministry leaders will be in touch with you to find opportunities to serve that you can offer joyfully - we know that some can commit to regular ministries and others need “one-off” opportunities. Throughout October, we will be having “Coffee Hour Conversations” after both services to share about various ministries to help with your prayerful discernment.
We will be consecrating all your offerings to God’s service on All Saints Sunday, November 6. Please respond by or before that date. With your help, we can continue “Weaving Grace Together” in Celebrating that Christ is All and in All by Seeking, Inviting, Belonging, Serving and Reverencing God’s Creation.
