Plan to leave a Legacy of Grace today.O Lord, Giver of Life and Source of Freedom, we know that all we have is received from your hand. Gracious and loving God, you call us to be stewards of your abundance, the caretakers of all you have entrusted to us. Help us always to use your gifts wisely and teach us to share them generously. Send the Holy Spirit to work through us, bringing your message to those we serve. May our faithful stewardship be a witness to the love of Jesus Christ in our lives. We pray with grateful hearts in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen. (Collect for Stewardship, Diocese of Washington) Make a difference for future generations. |
The purpose of Grace Church’s Endowment Fund is to help maintain the ministry of Grace Church for generations to come. Unlike gifts to our annual budget which are needed for day-to-day ministry, donations to the endowment are invested, and the parish may only spend a portion of the income from those investments each year.
More importantly, the Endowment Fund is a way to express your gratitude to God for the ways the Lord has used Grace’s presence and ministry to enrich your life. It enables you to leave an enduring "Legacy of Grace" that will extend Grace’s ministry for generations to come. |
How does Grace manage and steward these gifts?
Grace Church partners with The Episcopal Church Foundation to manage the fund. The Vestry may use endowment funds for ministry needs and outreach opportunities that are beyond our routine spending, not part of our operating budget. Donors may give to one of three sub-funds: - The General Fund: For whatever ministry needs the Vestry discerns, which could be anything from responding to natural disasters, helping fund a new ministry project, or unforeseen maintenance expenses. This offers the church the greatest flexibility. - The Capital Improvement Fund: For maintaining and enhancing our property's sustainability, utility and beauty, as this is the foundation of our day-to-day ministries. - The Outreach Fund: For ministries that benefit those in need, often distributed through non-profit ministry partners. Gifts of any size, recurring, or one-time, now or in the future, are welcome. How are the gifts recognized? We maintain a beautiful Memorials book in which donors' names are written. Annually, we have a gratitude dinner for donors to say thank them and to update them on what kinds of ministries the funds have made possible. Donors may also remain anonymous. |
There are many ways to leave a Legacy of Grace.
- A tax deductible gift of cash, check or set up a recurring or one time electronic payment - A gift from your 401K or IRA that provides relief from the tax burden for you or your beneficiaries - Gifts of Stock for an immediate tax benefit - Planned Giving:
The Rector or Bookkeeper would be happy to talk with you about any of these options. |
